‘Vigyan’ - the Hindi word for science is made up of two word ‘vi’ & ‘gyan’ which roughly corresponds to special knowledge. Unfortunately,in recent times, the study of science and mathematics has been largely reduced as a means to clear entrance examinations and securing high paying jobs.When the study is targeted towards attaining some distant socially approved goals, the focus of student, teachers and parents shifts from present and the emphasis is laid on somehow cramming the syllabus and securing marks through short tricks.The development of scientific skill which requires questioning, assessment of given situation and coming to probable solutions based on logical deductions cannot occur in such ambiance.We here at gurukul inculcate this scientific skill in students.The subject is taught right from the basic concepts.Students are made to think, reassess, question and imbibe the essence of the topic and its application in real world.The emphasis is laid on intuitive understanding rather than a just superficial interpretation of the subject.In our experience, the skill set of scientific attitude and the foundation of conceptual learning goes a long way in securing the well-being and success of students in academic as well as personal life.
