Description of PT Education, D'Souza Colony, Nashik

PT Nasik centre organised Milestones 2004 - a motivational talk for PT students to give them a final push to achieve their desired goals. The session was conducted on 16th Oct.2004. Two eminent personalities were invited as guest speakers for the same. First session was on Mastering your Mind delivered by Mr.Bishmaraj Bam, retired IPS officer and a sports Psychologist. He has been the inspiring source behind many sports personalities like Rahul Dravid, Anjali Bhagwat, Gopichand, Aparna Popat, Om Agarwal, Geet Sethi, Gaurav Natekar and ad infinitum, he encouraged the students to sing the mind and body symphony. Coveted with the philosophy of Yoga, he emphasized on the definition of mind embodying Sankalp (decision) and Chitta (consciousness) as the major ingredients of concentration. He also appealed to the students to live in the present and not to unnecessarily worry about past failures or future results. Citing examples of the seven urges of human nature, he elaborated on what to accept and what to ignore. Inspiring the students by citing real life instances like that of Om Agarwal, the famous snooker champ who had eventually became an alcoholic, he showed to the students that every person has his weaknesses but different is the man who overcomes them. Man's life is not worth living if he knew the future. And that's the charm of facing challenges! He also demonstrated some exercises of Pranshakti (deep breathing) wherein you empty your lungs) and Visualization. He ended up with a bang by saying that, The better player does not always win but the player who plays the best always wins!

In the second half of the session Mr Gotkhindikar, a known name to all Nashikites, member of the Mathematics Society of India, Maharastra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Board, etc. introduced the students with the ancient Indian system of Vedic Mathematics by taking examples from the works of Shankaracharya. He introduced the students to the simpler techniques of mental calculations without delving into the conventional methods, as MBA is all about intelligence per second!

CAT exam being on 21st November, all the students found it very relaxing to have their minds refreshed and the fear of mathematics slightly subdued. Carrying its legacy of welfare of students, PT Nasik has once again proved that it shall be always there to serve its students.

Each and every PT student was invited for the session and was made compulsory to attend the session. In all 190 students were present for this talk. Students very quite responsive and very much impressed by the talk.
