École Mondiale World School is one of the most expansive school in Mumbai. The School is authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. The School is also authorised to offer the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) from the University of Cambridge International Examinations Syndicate.
Being a small school, teachers and students know each other very well. The students are a very lively bunch and comfortable to hang out with if you've got more bucks up your sleeves, and are very extroverted. While facilities are sufficient for students, the motivation and competition is a drawback. Having lived abroad for 11 years, I failed to observe competition and motivation amongst my peers.
I've studied in Ecole Mondiale for 10th grade (I came mid-term from Hong Kong). I found the school in the sense to have a great deal of resources. The infrastructure is quite good and they are truly an IB school. For anybody who has to study IB in Mumbai for all programmes should go to Ecole Mondiale. However, there are some drawbacks. Firstly, the students there come from extremely wealthy backgrounds. Because of some socio-economic gaps it may be hard at times. Secondly the school is completely over priced. It is not value for money and they are trying to take every single cent out of your pocket. For instance, I came mid-term (missing around 2 months of school) and they did not give any concession. However, when I withdrew for a particular assessment, they made us pay.To conclude, for people who came from abroad and desperately need an IB school for MYP I suggest Ecole Mondiale. However, if you have other options (such as PYP or DP) I would suggest visit them as well cause it is not worth paying that much extra money. Overall, my experience was satisfactory.
Infrastructure and facilities are all top notch. The school has an Astro Turf field, one multi-purpose room which is used as a full size basketball court, table tennis tables, a computer lab with about 10 Apple desktop computers and a swimming pool. There are most probably more facilities which I did not see during my 1 day visit. This rating is based on infrastructure only.
