In British time the School was Pines Hotel where people could retreat from the town. The road leading to the school was known as Auckland Road and it was primarily a horse or pony riding route from the town. After the independence road was named Gandhi Road. Address in the map is shown as Katapahar which is not entirely correct. It is situated very close to the Ghoom Township rather than Katapahar which is fair bit of uphill walk from the school.

This school is one of the the oldest school in darjeeling..... It was estabalished in the 1910.....and it was the first H.S school in whole darjeeling...
