It's affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE). One of the oldest renowned Bengali medium school in Kolkata. It's an Govt. Spons Higher Secondary school. It is located at 62A, Shyampukur Street in north Kolkata. Initially its name was Saraswati Institution. Later it was rename as Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya, Sailendranath Sircar was founder of this school. The current main building of the school was built in 1934. Another building on the back side of the main building houses the primary section. Ashoke Sen, Shyamal Kumar Sen, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya are few notable alumni...and many more in this list.As an alumni i'm very proud to be a part of this school.
