Chakolas began over 185 years ago as a single store in Trichur, Kerala.The family run store set the precedent in Kerala for the one stop shop concept, where customers could buy from apparel to home furnishings. As the family expanded, they decided to venture into more targeted outlets thus leading to the opening of Chakolas Decorette, the brainchild of the Late John Chakola. The shop situated on shamugham rd in Cochin opened it doors in 1984 and was founded on the idea that home furnishings should be exceptional in comfort, style, quality and with high-perceived value to our customers. After Mr Chakolas untimely demise in 1994, his wife Nimmi J Chakola took over the store and started travelling the country in search of unique home products. With a eye for quality , Nimmi has brought some unique items to the store that cannot be found anywhere else in Kerala.
